Little Mister Bacterial Conjunctivitis

Sunday night, Carter's eyes started looking really red and goobery. I took him to the doctor yesterday and discovered that he has bacterial conjunctivitis. His little eyes look so sore, but if you ask him how his eyes are doing he will say, "It doing good."


He is still our smiley, happy little buddy!


This picture isn't really related to the rest of the post but I thought it was so funny I had to post it. Carter fell asleep like this one afternoon. He is actually standing up with one leg in our blanket basket.

Some days I wish I were the daddy

It's not that I don't like being the Mom, cause most days I love it; but some days I wish I were the daddy. The daddy gets to go to work (if he has a job that is) all day and then come home and play. He comes home and wrestles and tickles the kids and gets them all wound up just in time for me to try to put them to bed. When I discipline the boys, they want daddy. If they go on time out, daddy is going to save them. He is the fun guy. I have to be the mean mommy. Last weekend, Colby came with us to the Science Center. Now, I have taken the boys to the Science center two or three times- but it was never as fun as when daddy got to go with us. Ammon had Colby by the hand leading him all over the place saying, "Dad, come look at this," "Daddy, come over here!" He was sooo excited to show Colby everything. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful that my kids love their dad; but every once in a while I think, "Some days I wish I were the daddy."

The Zoo

We had a "warm spell" for a couple of days and took the kids to the zoo. The boys had so much fun being outside! We went with Ammon's friends Carson and Caden. Carter thinks that he is one of the big boys too! Don't let this first picture fool you- it is really not a tropical paradise here, the kids are inside.


At the zoo we saw some of our friends, the Bomsta's. Carter and Evelyn Bomsta had fun checking out the sea lions.

Puddle Jumping

The past couple of days have been so warm! Yesterday it was 49 degrees and today it got up to 51. The boys were so excited to go outside and play. We went to the park with our friends, the Adams and the boys founds some serious puddles to splash in. They had a blast!



Ammon was happy just to be out of the house.

Frost Family Video 2006

I made this video for my parents and Colby's parents for Christmas. Unfortunately, we had some technical difficulties and I could never get it to burn to a disc. It has taken me until now to figure out how to download a DVD encoder to transfer it into a file that I could download onto youtube. Here it is, a late Christmas present- or Happy Valentines Day a day early!

Entertaining ourselves

It has been so cold here lately! One morning it was negative 3 with a wind chill factor of negative 22. Our drain pipe on our washing machine even froze, which resulted in soapy water all over our carpet, kitchen and bathroom- what a mess! Needless to say, we haven't wanted to go outside much. We are trying to find alternative ways to entertain ourselves.


The boys love putting up their tents and tunnels. They fill up our whole living room, buy they keep the boys entertained.

The Science Center of Iowa is a great place to go play, Ammon loves making imprints of his hands and face. I can't remember what these things are called, but the one at the Science Center is huge!


Carter found these sunglasses in Ammon's drawer. He is all ready for Summer!


The mall has a great indoor play area that we frequent. Carter likes to climb inside the Hippo's mouth and pretend he is being eaten.


Ammon has been playing computer games. He hurries through the educational part so he can play the fun games at the end.

Recent Discoveries

When we moved into our townhouse, we told the management that we did not want cable TV. Then a wonderful thing happened. Colby plugged in the TV cable and we had 70 channels of wonderful cable television. We even had the fox soccer channel (which was Colb's dream come true). Free cable. This week tragedy struck our townhouses. They switched cable providers, which in turn cancelled our free cable (along with many of our neighbors). We now get 3 channels. Needless to say, we have been searching for something to fill our ten o'clock hour. (all 3 of our channels broadcast the news at 10). A couple of nights ago, we started watching the home video collection that Colby's dad gave us for Christmas. It was actually pretty enjoyable, and the best part of it is that I discovered something about my husband that I never knew before...


Here it is:
When visiting California in 1989- Colby wore a sweet pair of yellow spandex shorts for four consecutive days.



One day, he wore them with a pink tank top.

The pink tank top reappeared in the Spring of 1990, on Easter morning. This time with a pair of cut off sweatpants.

Contrary to what you may think, this new knowledge of Colby only increases my love for him!

A couple more things:

1. I am not posting these pictures because I am mad at Colby for moving me to a place that only has 3 public television channels.

2. Colby told me that if I posted these pictures of him he would get revenge by posting embarrasing pictures of me. Because I know he lacks both the time and the know how to do this, I am not too concerned about it. Plus, I knew you would all get such enjoyment out of these pictures- how could I not post them?

Binkie Stash

Three months after we got rid of Carter's binkie, he found the stash I had hidden in his dresser. When he saw them he got really excited and yelled, "bing-ies!"


He tried to put all of them in his mouth at the same time.

Luckily, he was more interested in playing with the binkies than sucking on them!

The next Rascal Flatts

Ammon loves Rascal Flatts, especially the song "My Wish." He is always singing this song- while he eats, gets dressed, takes a bath, etc. Every time I tried to video tape him he would stop singing. I managed to sneak up behind Ammon during lunch and record a video, when I showed it to Ammon he said, "you can't hear me!" I was then able to talk him into singing for the camera. I think he could be the next Rascal Flatts, or at least the next American Idol!

New Soccer Shoes

Carter is so excited about his new soccer shoes. (He thinks they are soccer shoes because of a small circle shaped logo on the tongue. We are just happy that he saw these as a good alternative to the florescent green, light-up Buzz Lightyear shoes).


He loves his shoes so much, he wants to put them on first thing in the morning.

Carter even wants to wear his shoes to bed (which we don't let him do, but I do go through the whole bedtime routine before I take them off.)

The best thing about Carter's soccer shoes is that they are great for kicking his soccer ball.

A New Look

I have been experimenting with our blog and figured out how to customize it (which was very exciting) I also decided to try a new look. I was trying to go with something a little more calming. Let me know what you think.

Robot Tubes

Ammon had minor surgery yesterday, a bilateral myringotomy with tubes, i.e. he got tubes in his ears :) Colby was trying to get him ready for the surgery and he told him they were going to put "robot tubes" in his ears. Ammon seemed pretty excited about that, until he figured out what it entailed. He couldn't eat or drink anything after midnight the night before. As luck would have it, he woke up at 1 in the morning asking for a drink or water. I had to wake him up at 6 am to leave for the surgical center. By the time we got to the surgical center, Ammon was very thirsty and hungry, not to mention still tired. He was very brave and he only cried when they had to pin him down to the table to give him the anesthesia.

The one good thing that came out of the surgery was Ammon's new slippers. (which bargain shopper Mom picked up at Old Navy for $1.50). When his preschool teacher asked Ammon how his surgery went the only thing he told her was, "I got new slippers!"

In an effort to keep Ammon entertained, we kept taking pictures of ourselves while we were waiting for the doctor.

After surgery Ammon was not a happy camper. He kept telling me, "My head hurts so bad!" In response to my efforts to get him to calm down he would reply, "Mom, that is not going to calm me down, my head hurts too bad."

To Ininity and Beyond

"To Infinity and Beyond" is now a common phrase around our house. It is usually accompanied by jumping off the furniture or running wildly around the room. The boys love their new Buzz Lightyear toys and I am happy to have two more "little buddies" to tote around everywhere with us.

We had so much fun visiting our family in Utah. There were plenty of opportunities to take pictures (and we took a ton!) so we had a hard time deciding which ones to post. Here are some of our favorites:

Christmas Eve

This year we spent Christmas Eve with the Frost's. I had some minor difficulties posting these pictures so they are all out of order.

The kids all looked so cute in their Christmas church outfits. We were having a hard time getting them to smile until Colby started making funny faces at them. This was the result.

Grandma Frost gave all the kids new PJ's and stuffed animals from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

We had a great nativity in the evening. Due to the fact that almost half of the participants were under the age of two, we did have some cooperation issues, but we all had a good time.

Playing in the Snow!!

While we were at Grandma and Grandpa Stewart's house there was a huge snow storm. The boys were so excited to go outside and play with their cousins. Carter looked so cute all bundled up!

Baylee tried to help Carter build a snowman, but the snow was too dry and it didn't stick together very well. They had fun trying!

The kids buried Natalee in the snow. By the way, Ammon was out playing too but he was honary and kept giving the camera dirty looks, so his picture didn't make it onto this post!
