My Valentine's

I'm sure most moms feel this way; but I just adore my children. Now, I don't feel like this every waking moment of the day, but when I think about their cute little smiles, their sticky little hands, their funny little personalities, I am totally smitten. It amazes me that they each have so many of their own idiosyncrasies and yet have so many traits that are obviously from me and Colby. It is so fun to watch them learn and grow and change.
Their dad isn't so bad either :) I feel so blessed to have so many Valentine's!

Little miss Sassy pants.
I dare say we are experiencing some "terrible threes" at our house....
it's a good thing she's so dang cute.

I can hardly believe I have a "soon to be" nine year-old. Ammon is such a fun little boy who is slowly growing into his spunky personality, his big vocabulary and his huge front teeth.
We love this boy.

Carter is so sweet and easy going. He is always thoughtful of others and ready to give his big bear hugs.

I can't say enough good things about this wonderful man. Colby is a hard worker, a great husband and a wonderful father. He is always making me laugh and doesn't complain (too much) about my pregnancy related mood swings and emotional break downs.

My little sweetheart.

Last, but not least, I had to include a picture of my newest Valentine. I feel slightly guilty that I am almost half-way through this pregnancy and I haven't even made mention of this little guy on my blog. We are so excited to have another little boy join our family. Despite the fact that he is still nameless, I didn't take a pregnancy profile pic until 19 weeks and I never made an "official" announcement on our blog, we love this little one already.
(poor little neglected fourth child.)

And I just had to throw this one in here to prove that I have actually taken TWO pictures of me this pregnancy.... enjoy them, I can't promise that you will see anymore of these!

Daddy Daughter Dance

Last weekend, Colby took Abbi to our chuch daddy daughter dance. Abb was soo excited to go on a date with daddy. They met up with some friends and went to Five Guys for dinner (girl LOVEs her a cheeseburger), then headed to the church for dancing and treats. (although I hear Abbi would only dance with the other 3 year old girls). I love watching Colby interact with Abbi, he is so tenderhearted when it comes to his little girl and you can tell that he is wrapped around her little finger! I thought it was so sweet that Colby took her to the dance even though she is a little young and it wasn't really "his thing."

Abbi and daddy before the dance.

"One little kiss.... on the cheek."

Things I love

One of the things I love about my kids is that they are always making me laugh. I need to be better about writing down the funny things they say. Here are a couple of recent ones.

A couple of weeks ago, Colby and I spied the primary "spotlights" in the hallway at church. We were surprised to see that Ammon was one of the spotlights. It was then we learned of Ammon's lofty ambitions for the future.

In five years, while the other kids are "volunteering at a veterinary clinic" and "working a part time job," our son will be busy, "watching PG-13 movies. " Good to know.

When I asked Abbi if she wanted to do the "daddy daughter number" for her dance recital, she looked at me with a puzzled look on her face and said, "do a dance with my daddy? that sounds bisgusting!" I'm pretty sure Colby would agree with her!

This morning Abbi was looking at the switch that controls the garbage disposal. She very hesitantly touched it and said, "mom, if I touch this button will the house plode?"

Abbi on sharing; "Mom, you've GOT to try one of these cookies, they are soooo good. But you can't try one of mine!"

Last week was Carter's 100th day of school. As part of the celebration, the kids were told to "dress as if you are 100 years old." Carter and I came up with a costume, complete with a cane, dyed his hair grey and sent him to school. When he got off the bus that afternoon Cart said, "Mom, that was an epic fail. Only like 2 other kids were dressed up and I looked like a total dweeb." Sorry buddy.
