Water Fun a.k.a. Utah trip part dos

While we were in Utah, we spent LOTS of time swimming and playing in the water.  The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed playing outside without the Iowa rain storms.

One day we got together with my friends and their kids to play at a splash park and on Harward's slip and slide.  Here are all the "big boys."

We spent the Fourth of July swimming at Browning with the Nelson's and Stewart's, the boys had a blast!

Ammon discovered the diving board and spent much of the afternoon teaching Uncle Scott and Uncle Daniel how to do "tricks" off the diving board.  He swallowed enough pool water to make him sick!

We had a great time boating with Grandpa Stewart (other than Carter having a touch of the flu) and spent lots of time playing on the beach in the sand.

Cousin Barrick had his first ride on the boat, and he did great!

We all jumped in the lake to cool off.

Colby helped the boys build this awesome sand castle.

We spent one afternoon at Cherry Hill.  Carter wanted to snack more than he wanted to ride on the waterslides.

The Frost crew at Cherry Hill. (I know this is a great picture of me, possibly one of the only ones you will see of me pregnant in a swimming suit).

Dan and Marcie, Grandma and Grandpa Frost, Colby, Ammon and Carter getting ready to ride on the waterslide.

One day Grandpa Frost rented out the "flowrider" in Ogden.  We all had a blast trying to surf (or watching everyone try to surf). Baileigh, Brianna and Logan were great at it.

Colby was a pro at boogie boarding!

Logan showed all of the older boys up at surfing.

We spent one day boating with Grandpa Frost and his awesome hat and "guard dogs."

Carter, Ammon and Megan playing on the beach.

The "flowrider crew."

Susan, Marcie and I were great spectators at flowrider.

Crystal, Carolee, Kim and Chelsey (thanks for posing for me girls!)

We had a blast doing all of these fun water activities.  Believe it or not, we didn't even get water logged!  I know it's hard to believe, but there is still more to come of our Utah trip- stay tuned!

Animal Adventures!

After spending most of July vacationing with our family and friends in Utah,  we have reluctantly returned back to Iowa and Colby has once again started school.  We had so much fun on our trip, and had so many adventures, it is going to take me weeks to get our blog up to date.  One of the highlights of our trip for the boys was all of the animals that they encountered.  Ammon and Carter are 100 % boy and somehow managed to find a snake, salamander, and deer without even leaving their grandparent's houses. Here is an account of the many animals we encountered while in Utah.

When we visited great Grandma and Grandpa Stewart on the farm, Uncle Slade helped the boys find a snake in the backyard. Unfortunately, Carter was a little too brave and ended up with his first snake bite.  After he was bandaged up he went right back outside and started playing with the snake again.

After the snake bite incident, Grandpa Stewart showed the boys how to hold the snake up by it's head so it couldn't bite them.

Don't worry, we washed their hands really well after this adventure!

We visited Hogle Zoo with Grandma Stewart, Aunt Leslee, Uncle Scott, Aunt Aleese and lots of cousins. Out of all the animals we saw this day, the boys were the most excited about the SNAKES!

Ammon was amazed at this huge Python.

We also visited the Living Planet Aquarium and saw lots of fish and sharks!
We were able to touch Sting Rays, Starfish and a Sea Cucumber.

The kids discovered a salamander in Grandma Frost's window well (who knows why they were in the window well, but they were excited about this discovery). Their cousins Logan and Baileigh were good sports and helped the boys wash the salamander and build a house for it.

A couple of days later, they rediscovered the salamander and were just as excited about it as the first time they found it!

Although Ammon and Carter love animals (especially reptiles) I am sorry to say that our only pet is going to remain our fish (or rather our empty aquarium because our fish keep dying). Maybe someday we will get a dog....  definitely never a snake... or salamander.

Farewell Sleepover

Our friends, the Adams just moved to Michigan.  The night before they left, they came and stayed with us.  The boys had so much fun having a sleepover with their buddy Cannon.  Suprisingly enough, they even went to sleep without too much intervention.

We are so lucky to have such good friends!  We will miss you guys so much.  Ammon and Carter are going to miss all the playdates, bike rides and trips to Dewey park with Cannon.  We will miss little Karlee and her spunky personality. Celeste, I will miss our early morning runs and the late nights at the Macaroni Grill,  getting together on Thursday nights to watch Grey's Anatomy, girls nights out, canning and sewing.  We wish you the best of luck in Michigan, make sure you come back and visit!
