Colby finished his classes last week and decided to take the weekend off before he started studying for his boards. We decided to take the boys on a little vacation to Omaha. When I told Ammon that we were going on a trip we had the following conversation:
Mom: We're going to go on a little trip and stay in a hotel and go to the zoo.
Ammon: Oh, is Ashlyn coming?
Mom: No.
Ammon: Oh, is Caden coming?
Mom: No, just our family
Ammon: Oh, so are Grandma and Grandpa coming?
Mom: No, just me, you, Daddy and Carter, how does that sound?
Ammon: Sounds pretty boring to me.
I think it's a little early for Ammon to think that we are "boring," but we all ended up having a great trip (even Ammon).
The Omaha zoo was awesome! The "desert dome" made us feel like we had
been transported to Southern Utah. It was full of SNAKES (which the boys
loved, me not so much), bats, mice and caves. It was a little boy's dream come true.

The zoo also had an indoor rainforest, complete with waterfalls, vines,
crocodiles, hippos and monkeys. It was also very cool.

We borrowed this wagon from our friends so the boys wouldn't
whine if they got tired of walking. Colby was a trooper and pulled them
around the entire zoo. (up and down many hills, might I add)

We were also able to visit the Winter Quarters visitors center.
They had displays of a handcart, wagon, cabin, and a couple of
cool movies about Winter Quarters.

ok your boys crack me up. In every single picture they both are pulling the funniest faces. What a great little trip, and what an awesome zoo! Contrary to popular belief, I think your trip looked opposite of boring it looked like a blast, especially the pool. That was the greatest indoor pool I've ever seen. Shauni, your little pregnant belly looks so cute.
Looks like a fun trip and a well deserved break. I'm still waiting for the trip to Dyersville, Iowa to visit the "Field of Dreams". When is that post coming?

I love the Omaha Zoo and the pool looks like so much fun. I'm glad you guys could take a little time for yourselves before the craziness of summer starts. You look so cute by the way.
What a well deserved little vaca--it looks like fun! The boys are so funny--when they were jumping on the bed and you told them to boogie--so cute (reminded me of my little boys...) Glad you had a good time--Shauni, look at you--I'm counting on twins!!

That is too funny! Ammon is getting so big, and I love his necklace that he wears that is too funny! I want to go on a trip! I just have to keep telling myself only one month left of school!! Also you look so cute I love your little baby bump! I can't wait till you find out what you are having! You are finding out right?

BORING!!! Just kidding...looks like you guys had a lot of fun! Right now I can't even remember what we did last weekend. We need to go out the Omaha Zoo too. It looks like a lot of fun, although there are enough snake sightings around my own house! We need to go to the park!
