I am now in the "last leg" of my pregnancy, the third trimester. Although I am getting closer to being done, I still have twelve weeks left. Twelve weeks seems like a long time to battle all the aches and pains, incessant hunger, heartburn, stretch marks, swollen ankles, random people being constantly amazed by my hugeness, doctors appointments etc, etc. In an effort to remain optomistic, I came up with twelve things that are good about being pregnant (one for each week that I have left). By popular request, I have also included some pictures of my growing belly.
12 Good Things about Being Pregnant
1. I am so grateful that I can get pregnant. It really is a miracle and I am grateful we have never had to go through the trial of infertility.
2. I love to feel my baby move. Sometimes when I am watching TV I will get distracted by watching by belly jump and wiggle. The boys all like to put their hands on my tummy and wait for her to kick.
3. I can eat icecream at 10 o'clock at night without feeling guilty. (of course, I regret it every time I go to the doctors office and have to step on that scale, but it is almost guilt free).
4. I am not expected to do manual labor.
5. Colby helps me put on my compression stockings before I go to work, which I think is kind of romantic.
6. It is really easy to clean lint out of my belly button.
7. I can't see my feet. (If you have ever seen my feet, you know why this is a good thing).
8. I love to listen to Ammon and Carter talk about "baby sister" and give my tummy kisses.
9. I get better tips at work.
10. After reading Stephanie Meyer's new book, I am grateful that this baby is not half vampire.
11. It is a great conversation starter.
12. I have a wonderful husband, who is also a wonderful father. This little girl is so lucky that she gets to have Colby for a dad.
If anyone can think of any other good things about being pregnant, I would love all of the encouragement I can get!

You look great!!!
Another good thing about being pregnant---my hair never falls out so the bathroom sink isn't constantly littered with stray hairs that gross everybody out.
Thanks. I needed that list, too. A good one for me is that I"m off work now on disability, but not everyone gets that.
No periods!
Ditto on the hair staying put.
Those are great reasons. I just started loosing my hair (post baby) and it is kind of nasty.
You look FABULOUS pregnant. I am glad you are getting better tips.
Another reason: Being able to not feel that need to "suck in" your stomach because it is totally and completely impossible to do that when pregnant. AND...foot rubs!
You seriously are so darn cute-and I mean it :) Now that August is almost over November will be here in no time. Hang in there!
The best part is when they're here and it was all worth it! I just had baby Lilly on July 30th...there is nothing like holding that new infant in your arms and thinking it's the most perfect thing you've ever done! Hope you don't think I'm a blog stalker but my sister was on Scott and Alesse's blog and said she saw your name...so anyhow. We have a blogspot, it's laurengoff.blogspot.com but is private. If you want an invite my email is laurengoff@creighton.edu and send me your email and I'll invite you. Your kids are darling and you're summer looked super fun! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy...what are you having?
First I think you are absolutley beautiful, huge, umm... you did see me pregnant right??? You most definently are not huge!! The best thing for me is knowing that I am carrying a miracle inside me, that will bring great joy into our lives.
You forgot that you don't have to fast on Fast Sunday! HaHaHa!
You are a beautiful pregnant Mommy! Try to hang in there! I hate the last trimester!
Your pictures are darling! You look beautiful, and I very much mean that, so believe me!! You make me laugh on your comments. My favorites being that you think it's romantic that Colby helps you put on compression stockings, easy to pick lint out of your belly button, and not seeing your feet. You're hillarious! Another great thing about pregnancy is: no period, and it's the only time in your life you can be "big" and people think it's cute. Hang in there. Wish I could see you.
What a great post. You look fabulous by the way, and I wish you the best of luck!

You look so cute! Good luck on your last twelve weeks. To me, they seem the hardest so it is good you are so optomistic!
Ammon rode the bus? I will be crying when that day comes too!
(Read my friend's blog "drew & jenny." they adopted a littel boy and now I feel forever grateful for every stretch mark. :)
I may have to steal your blog idea! I love it!
I've been thinking of more good things about being pregnant for you.
Tonight at a BBQ, I was able to be the first one to the food since I was pregnant.
I too love the hair thing (though I hate post baby clumps of hair coming out.)
Oh, and the no periods! YES! A great one! (I was at Wal-Mart last night, and I remembered that I had to get some pads before we go to the hospital. It seems like forever since I've had a period!)
You look fabulous! Seriously!
Here's to the last trimester for both of us! Can't wait to see both our new little ones!
I love the guilt free ice cream. I would use that excuse too when I was pregnant. Now I don't have one, but I eat it now. I would say one good thing about being pregnant for me is I don't feel guilty about NOT running, and my hair gets thicker, but I don't think that is a plus for you. You already have long flowing locks. NOT FAIR! Love and miss ya
ditto to all of this!! you look so pretty & i loved all the 12 things you wrote!!
pregnancy really looks great on you!! not so much on me though cause i'm still trying to loose all the weight! ;(
miss ya~
